Women not only worked in the factories of Republic Aviation but, during World War II, they also acted as controllers in the tower that exists today and is part of the tour offered by the American Airpower Museum. Republic helped redefine the role of women in our society by employing them as equals in a society of the 1940's that still embraced segregation.
